Not the Motorhome Trip No.6 5th Feb - 12 Mar 2018

This was our 40th Wedding Anniversary Cruise to the Azores, Carribean & Lower US States including Louisiana, Florida & South Carolina. We encountered Storm Riley on the way back meaning we had 10 days at sea instead of stopping at our 2nd Azores island on the way back.

We had a fun time despite being ill for quite a while and loved our Atul Kutcher meal on the 25th in the Benares offshoot on board called Sindhu.

We sailed 12,865 land miles across the Atlantic on our journey. To see that in more detail go to the CRUISE18 tab on the website

I have also included a copy of the Captains Log Star date 11th March 2018 ;) and here is the Medevac video on Day 34 , scary CLICK HERE

Retrospective

We took our hired Canadian motorhome across the border at Niagara Falls, Lewiston bridge into Upstate New York along the edge of lake ontario and then via Rochester , Syracuse , Pulaski and back into Canada at Alexandria bay.

For Maine we visited Bar Harbor, what a lovely place - lobster roll and all ;) and Lubec (eastern most US town) and Campobello island as a detour between Fredricton & St John , New Brunswick.

You can see our grand tour of Canada by clicking here

Plus slideshow / video of Upstate New York and Maine is here

We also visited Florida as a family back in 1997, see here

We also visited the states in 2007 going to my cousin in California , see here

And we were back again on our 40th Wedding Anniversary cruise in 2018, see here

I have reworked all our motorhome travel websites to ensure they are in technical parlance "responsive embedded" and suitable for use on all mobile phones.

They always worked on laptops, macs , desktop pcs and tablets but were a little quirky on phones.

Why not try them out on your phone and let us know of anything we could do better, many thanks and happy motorhoming!

This is a retrospective post as have been digitising old photographs.

We travelled around Florida NOT in a motorhome this time but heaven forbid in a car, sacriledge to us motorhomers / RV-ers/ campervanners but there you go it was in a time BM (before motorhoming).

Starting in Orlando we stayed in Kissimmee (nice pool at Villas @ Somerset) visited Disney World a few times, the kids were young, then travelled across the sunshine superhughway bridge to Tampa, St Pete's & Clearwater beaches, Busch gardens, Sanibel, Venice, Melbourne beach etc down the west coast of Florida across the Everglades, thru all the Keys, Marathon, Marine park at Bahia Honda, stayed at Key West, 1930s hotel, sunsets, Hemmingways Sloppy Joes, Key Largo then up to Fort Lauderdale, Miami, Cocoa beach, Kennedy Space Station narrowly missing the next shuttle take off by 1 day (Discovery) and then back to Orlando to fly back. Fab times.

If you want to see and read more why not visit our Canada / US website trips click here or if you specifically wanna see 1997 click here

Enjoy - have you done this trip or something similar, let us know about it here, thanks! Would definately do it in an RV or 5 wheeler next time, gives one so much more freedom.
